Who we can help
The service is only available to owner-managed UK private companies that qualify as micro-entities or small companies and prepare unaudited annual accounts. We do not accept audited accounts, medium-sized or large companies, groups, charities, regulated entities or companies requiring specialist reporting.
What the report is
What Your Numbers Say is a plain-English companion report based on the year-end accounts and comparative trial balance supplied to us. It explains significant movements shown by those documents and helps the reader understand the relationship between profit, cash and the year-end position.
What the report is not
The report is not an audit or assurance engagement, another set of accounts, a tax computation, legal advice, investment advice or regulated financial advice. It does not replace advice from the company’s accountant or another appropriately qualified adviser on a particular decision or transaction.
Documents and reliance
Our comments are limited to the final documents provided. We do not inspect or independently verify the underlying accounting records, transactions or supporting evidence. The report should not be used as the sole basis for making a financial, tax, legal or investment decision.
Our right to decline an enquiry
Submitting an enquiry does not create a client relationship or contract and does not guarantee acceptance. We may accept or decline any enquiry at our discretion, including where it falls outside the scope of the service, we do not have suitable capacity, there is an actual or potential conflict of interest, or we otherwise consider the engagement unsuitable. We are not required to provide a reason for declining an enquiry.
Before work begins
If we are able to help, we will confirm the agreed scope, documents required, price, timing and terms of engagement in writing before any work begins. Those written terms will govern the service we provide.
Where the service fits
Your accountant remains an important part of your business. What Your Numbers Say provides a separate, independent and plain-English explanation of your completed annual accounts, helping you understand what changed, what affected profit and cash, and which areas may deserve your attention.
The service is intended to sit alongside your final accounts and support more informed discussions. It does not replace advice from your accountant or another appropriately qualified adviser about a particular decision or transaction.
